Do I need to have a built-in pressure washer for my drinkware? Absolutely not. Do I use this thing every day? You better believe it! I have a bad habit of not rinsing my cups (particularly coffee mugs) and then they get this stuck-on ring that won’t come off in the washer; I have to scrub my cups before putting them in the washer, and who wants to do that?? I just so happened to have a hole drilled into my sink next to my faucet that I wasn’t using for anything, so I decided to give this is a try. I checked the measurements to make sure there would be enough space for the hardware to fit. My sink is on an island, so I didn’t have to worry about clearance for a backsplash, but I did want to make sure the rinse tray wouldn’t butt up against the faucet. Despite knowing the exact dimensions before receiving it, this thing was bigger than I expected. While it did fit in the space I had originally planned for it, I decided to move my built in soap dispenser from the outer corner of my sink to next the faucet, and place this rinser in the corner instead. The back overhangs the edge of sink a little bit, but I don’t mind and doesn’t look off putting, especially with the new corner position. Installation was a breeze – as another reviewer said there are no actual written instructions, but they aren’t necessary; it’s pretty self-explanatory. There was only one step that wasn’t pictured or written that caused a hiccup for me: there are two rubber washers included in the kit that aren’t specifically mentioned in the assembly. I excluded them during installation and it resulted in a slow leak, as the seal from the water connection was imperfect (not tight enough) without them. Super simple fix, I just unscrewed everything, put them on the two water connection points and it fixed the problem. In hindsight it’s pretty obvious what they were for and I should have known to use them. All in all, it took me about 20 minutes to install, and that included having to empty out my cabinet and restock it. Once I began actively using it, I did notice that lack of slant to the rinse tray as another reviewer did. This does result in standing water that won’t drain, and while some might not like that, I don’t find it to be a nuisance. I rinse my glasses until the water draining out runs clean, so the water left in the tray isn’t dirty water, plus I use this often enough throughout the day that the water isn’t left standing for too long. I also live in the desert, so standing water in general (even inside) doesn’t really last that long and evaporates rather quickly. If you live in a different climate, or don’t rinse your cups that extra couple seconds to flush the try water, you might have an issue, but I haven’t so far.
